Is my hermit crab dead!?

my other big hermit crab unburried him.. all i see is a pink crab with no shell and no legs (i guess he was molting for the first time). he was barely moving/twitching last night and now he's not moving at all.. i dont know what to do! and if he is dead, i dont want to leave him in there til the smell comes.. help please!
