Is it possible to trail hike across Ontario?

I am interested in trails that would allow one to hike continuously across the province, if possible. I am also interested in hearing from people that have had hiking experience with the Trans Canada trail, particularly in Ontario. Things like are there breaks in it? Do you have to get off the trail at night? What kind of camping opportunities are there along the trail, etc.
