Is religion slowing America down?

I'll answer just your heading question because I am not feeling like reading a whole article tonight. I think that religion(of various kinds of course) is the only thing keeping America a float. Without some form of moral doctrinaire this country would become, lets face it is becoming, a more perverse, and depraved version of the Roman Empire.
